Wilkinson King
Our approach to architecture is always conceptual and begins with the understanding of programmatic conflicts and harmonies within the brief before they become entwined within the architectural solution. We live within a world where chaos, uncertainty and complexity are routine. The constant evolution and conflict of artistic, political and economic programmes represent the truest manifestation of contemporary culture. In all our projects, whatever the scale, Wilkinson King attempt to design architecture that is empowered to maintain a dialogue with contemporary world that creates, sanctions and influences the built environment. We are interested in the physical context of a project and the forces that transform it, the way spaces exist, fragment and dislocate over time, the way they are used and perceived to be used within a changing cultural context. We always seek to explore and create positive solutions within a contemporary cultural and social context.
